I don't know if you've heard but I commute to and from work everyday. It takes at least 45 minutes sometimes an hour depending on traffic. That means I sit in my car for up to 2 hours daily. I've found certain things that allow the time to pass faster. I have a couple radio shows I enjoy listening. Sometimes I opt for talking on the phone and catching up with people. Sometimes I sing at the top of my lungs but something else I've taken to is looking at all the other weirdos that commute as well. The other day while I was driving I noticed a car broken down on the side of the road. Whenever I see this I always look around to see if the owner is still with the vehicle or if maybe the vehicle has been there for while. If the owner is still around sometimes you get to see someone freaking out or yelling on the phone but in this particular instance I found the owner meditating about 15 yards from the car. Yes I said meditating - indian style on the side of the highway with both hands in meditation position. These are the things that make life's commute all the more interesting. I loved it.

Finally...

Moved last night. It was glorious. Living in a house is glorious. Everything is a mess. Everything is chaos right now. And it is already wonderful.

'Bout time.

I have been unemployed and homeless for two weeks short of three months.  I know you are thinking that this sounds awesome.  No job to report to and no rent to pay...but i am the kind of girl that needs her place in the world and after a certain amount of time her routine.  Things are finally looking up for me.  Yesterday's celebration with margaritas and mexican food was followed up with emails worth rejoicing over.  After applying to various, numerous, lots of job openings I have finally recieved a call back - and not just one - three to be exact.  I am not saying that any of these will work out but I am hopeful.  It is such a relief just knowing that there isn't something wrong with me. I was starting to feel like people could tell that sometimes I get things stuck in my teeth just by looking at my resume.  Another thing that makes my heart rejoice is after calling on this one apartment for close to two months it finally looks like we are making some progress.  I have a meeting with the property manager tomorrow.  Yep, two job interviews and an apartment viewing.  Sounds too good to be true in the life of dana.

So....i was walking down hudson the other day and over heard these two construction workers on a smoke break.  it was the kind of smoke break where you could tell they didn't really know each other but somehow ended up on the curb together.

....so you got a girlfriend?

....well i have a friend that i bang...

that was all i heard but i decided that it was enough.

sounded too good to be true.
